2022 was really a year for the memory books. A year in the online book community, a year of insane personal growth, and this year has also brought significant life changes. I’m so excited to see what 2023 holds for me and I also am so excited to get to my 2023.

I’ve already got some books in mind that I have set priority to this coming year, but in this post, we’re going to discuss my January TBR.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I bought the EBook bundle of Throne of Glass last year when it was on mega sale. I believe I got it for under $5 if I’m remembering correctly. I bought it very shortly after I joined BookTok because it feels like a BookTok right of passage to have read this series. I also bought the ACOTAR series on the same sort of sale and read that already. I loved ACOTAR so much and am excited to get to ToG.

It’s probably taken me so long to get to ToG because it feels like such a huge undertaking, but as someone who is always recommending Zodiac Academy, it’s a little hypocritical of me to be nervous about the size of the Throne of Glass series.

This series is a beefy, 8 book series, so if I read all of them in the month of January I’ll be happy with that book count for the month. I’m going to be attempting a buddy read so that will probably (maybe, hopefully, possibly) keep me on track. I am also a chaotic mood reader so I really suck at buddy reads even though I love them so much.

We’re going to call the rest of this list “Honorable Mentions & Hopefuls”

Because Throne of Glass is such a large series, I’m not over-extending myself right at the beginning of the year. While I am a fast reader, it’s situational and I also have been in and out of Book Slumps a lot lately.

Scarred by Emily McEntire

One of my sweet friends from the online book community annotated this book for me and I have been dying to get to it. I am so excited and am prioritizing this read for the beginning of the year for sure. If I need a break from ToG, I’ll be reading scarred for sure.

I read Emily McEntire’s Sugarlake Series before I was on BookTok and I love that series so much and still recommend it to this day. It’s a small town, super spicy, interconnected standalone, and AMAZING. If that sounds like something you’re looking for, HIGHLY recommend checking it out.

Addicted to You by Krista and Becca Ritchie

I cannot wait to get to this book. Another sweet online book friend sent me this from my wishlist but I’ve really wanted to read it lately and need to make the time for it. I hear it’s heavy for mental health but I feel like I am able to handle that right now.
