When I set out on my BookTok journey I really had no idea how many fun and exciting things would end up coming my way and how many friends I’d make in these few short months since joining a social media app.

One thing that I’ve really liked about BookTok is connecting with authors, such as my absolute favorites, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. (The authors of Zodiac Academy)

Not only am I able to watch my favorite authors content, but I’m finding new authors that I would’ve never found otherwise through their content and my own book content. This is how I met the author of Kingdomless, Michelle Garyfalakis.

Michelle commented on one of my TikToks asking if she could send me her PR box for her new book and I immediately said yes! It was so so so exciting and I couldn’t believe someone was asking ME to receive their book PR box!

Side note: get P.O. boxes if you’re going to do stuff like this. I lucked out because Michelle is not a weirdo, but I need to start practicing better online safety measures and that includes not giving strangers on the internet your address, friends.

I had never heard of Michelle or her book, Kingdomless, before she reached out to me, and have been so lucky to not only have LOVED her book but have also made a dear friend out of this previous internet stranger.

I received the PR package all the way from Canada and ripped into that bad boy immediately. You can watch my unboxing on YouTube at the link above or I did my blind unboxing on TikTok below.

This was my first ever PR box and I will hold this experience near and dear to my heart for the rest of time. It is such an honor for an author to have chosen ME as someone they want to represent their book and it is even more of an honor now that Michelle has ended up being such a dear friend.

Make sure you follow Michelle on Instagram and TikTok for updates on the future books in her Evamore Series

A few of my sweet BookTok friends decided to buddy read Kingdomless together and it was so much fun! If you’re looking for another reason to join BookTok, DO IT FOR THE BOOK FRIENDS. I’ve met some of my favorite people in the world in the last few months on this app and in this community.

This was my second ever buddy read and we all LOVED the book, which was good because it would’ve been really awkward if we all so publicly ended up hating her book.

Now I am going to try to describe this book in my own words and I just hope I do it justice.

Tropes: Found family, lost royalty, love triangle (ish), one horse

YA Fantasy- zero spice, a lot of the good tension

We first meet Raelle, a lost child who was adopted by a King, accepted and loved by him and his 3 sons. They have such a beautiful, wholesome relationship it was heartwarming to read about. There is a stepmama who exudes all the tension.

The plot really picks up quickly in this book which is a perk for me. I love when the world building is spread out throughout the action and my interest and attention span don’t have time to get bored.

There are several plot twists throughout the book and Michelle does a fantastic job of keeping you guessing until the very end.

This is a 5-star book and I would recommend every fantasy fan grab this book and add it to their TBR ASAP.

Available on KindleUnlimited or through Amazon and Barnes and Noble
